We are seeking a Lecturer/Trainer in Roofing Occupations to promote and provide an excellent learning experience which ensures high achievement for all students.

As a Lecturer/Trainer in Roofing Occupations, you will teach and manage effectively across the Division's Curriculum, primarily Roofing apprenticeship standards, with further opportunity for full-time roofing courses. You will plan and deliver the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard, assess and monitor student work to assure high achievement and progression, and coach and train apprentices in their workplace.

Providing effective tutorial and pastoral support is central to the role, alongside contributing fully to divisional and College teams, sharing best practice and helping to develop the curriculum. The role includes up to 832 hours of teaching per year.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 2 or above qualification in a roofing discipline and either hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification, Assessor awards and V units within the specified timescales. You will have knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and End Point Assessment, and an understanding of the knowledge, skills and behaviours required in the Roofing apprenticeship standard.

We are looking for someone with experience of roofing occupations including slating, tiling, lead work, flat roof and waterproof membranes, together with excellent communication and administrative skills. Experience of teaching apprenticeship programmes and knowledge of quality assurance systems relating to the curriculum area are desirable. A commitment to ongoing professional development, excellent teaching and support, safeguarding, team working and the College's Single Equality Policy is essential.

The salary for this post is up to £40,665.
