Skills Development Coach - Engineering (Fabrication & Welding)

£31,500-£33,500 gross per annum

Full Time - 37hrs per week

Together with Blackburn College, we are creating one of the strongest apprenticeship and technical education offers in the region.

As we continue to invest in our facilities, expertise and apprenticeship provision, we are looking for a motivated Skills Development Coach to join our Engineering team based at the Further gate Business Park, Harwood Street, Blackburn.

About the Role

As a Skills Development Coach with a specialism in fabrication, welding and/or sheet metal, you will manage a caseload of Engineering Apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey, from onboarding through to End Point Assessment (EPA). You will provide expert guidance, coaching, assessment and support, helping apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to succeed in their careers while building strong relationships with employers across the region.

What We're Looking For
  • Level 2 Qualification in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT
  • Level 3 Engineering Qualification in a relevant subject area
  • Knowledge of theory and practical skills in engineering equipment, machinery and materials Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Relevant industry experience in fabrication, welding and/or sheet metal
  • The ability to motivate, support and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • A learner-focused approach with a commitment to delivering an exceptional apprenticeship experience.
