The Laser Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, operation, and maintenance of laser systems for live events and touring productions. This role requires a high level of technical precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work in fast-paced live environments.
The Technician will work closely with Lighting Designers, Production Teams, and other internal departments to deliver visually impactful laser effects in line with creative direction, while ensuring full compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and test laser systems, control hardware, and networking components
- Collaborate with internal teams to confirm system design, control methods, and cue design
- Install and rig laser systems across stages, FOH positions, and truss structures
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly during rehearsals and live shows
- Align laser projectors accurately to meet design specifications
- Configure beam zones, masking, and safety systems in accordance with regulations
- Work at height and follow correct rigging and safety procedures
- Ensure correct handling, transport, and storage of sensitive equipment
- Keep accurate records of faults, repairs, and maintenance
- Travel nationally and internationally as part of touring productions
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transport of equipment
- Represent the company professionally on site with clients and production teams
- Experience working in live events, touring, or production environments
- Good problem-solving skills under pressure
- Ability to work long, irregular hours and travel frequently across UK, EU and the rest of the world.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to relocate to near our Oakmill Office
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience with industry software (e.g. Pangolin, Beyond, Depence, or similar)
- Familiarity with timecode and show control integration
- Laser safety qualifications (e.g. LVR or equivalent certification)
- IPAF / PASMA or working-at-height qualifications
Salary - dependent on experience
