Glass Operative

Padiham Glass is one of the UK's leading Sealed Unit Manufacturers and a division of the Emplas Group of companies. Operating from our state-of-the-art 45,000 sq ft manufacturing facility near Burnley in Lancashire, we’re committed to bringing the latest innovations in high‑performance and energy‑efficient glass technologies to the trade.

We are fully operational and experiencing encouraging increases in volumes.

Due to increasing customer demand we are looking for new team members to join our production teams at Padiham Glass either on Day, Late and Night shifts.

• Operating glass processing equipment across the operation
• Handling sheets of glass and cutting them to size with the use of machinery
• Using a variety of glass cutting, toughening and moulding tools
• Manual handling and loading of glass onto stillages
• Ensuring the safe operation of all glass equipment
• Completing all relevant paperwork as required involved in day‑to‑day glass production

• Experience of using and working with a variety of glass is ideal, however not essential as full training will be provided
• The ability to lift and handle (sometimes heavy) materials
• A good understanding of Health and Safety requirements
• An ability to work well under pressure
• Be able to work to tight deadlines both individually and as a team
• Punctuality and be reliable

40 hours per week

Monday – Friday: 06:00–14:00, 08:00–16:30, 14:00–22:00, 22:00–06:00

£12.71 per hour, plus an attendance bonus of £6 per day, plus an additional 20 % salary increase for the late and night shifts.
