CNC Engineer – Die Casting

Location:

Burnley

Hours:

Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–3:00pm

Salary: £35,000

We’re looking for an experienced CNC Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment in Burnley, working with die-cast aluminium and zinc components.

This is a hands-on role covering CNC setting, operating and programming, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy and continuous improvement.

The Role
  • Set, operate and programme CNC machines, including milling, turning and machining centres
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Select tooling, fixtures and work-holding equipment
  • Set tooling offsets, speeds and feeds
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspections
  • Make programme adjustments to improve quality, cycle times and tool life
  • Machine aluminium, zinc and other die-cast components
  • Identify and resolve machining, tooling and quality issues
  • Use precision measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers and gauges
  • Carry out basic machine checks and preventative maintenance
  • Support continuous improvement, 5S and lean manufacturing activities
About You

You’ll ideally have previous experience in a CNC machining/engineering environment and be confident with setting and operating CNC machinery.

  • Good knowledge of CNC machining and tooling
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Experience working to tight tolerances
  • Strong inspection and measuring skills
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability

    High attention to detail and quality
  • Experience with die-cast materials would be advantageous
  • CNC programming experience (Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain) would be beneficial
  • Monday–Thursday working week
  • 6am–3pm hours
  • £35,000 per annum
