About the Role:

This role is responsible for overseeing and developing programmes across Burnley FC in the Community’s busy and diverse Community Welfare and Inclusion department, delivering high-quality projects, interventions and sessions across Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire. Using the power and influence of sport, the postholder will support positive and lasting change for under-represented, disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals and communities, helping to improve wellbeing, engagement and life opportunities.

The postholder will lead the day-to-day coordination, delivery and strategic development of a portfolio of community programmes, ensuring they are impactful, well-managed and aligned to organisational objectives and funding requirements. They will provide leadership and support to a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, whilst working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to maximise community impact, strengthen partnerships and enhance the reach of Burnley FC in the Community's services.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Delivery & Development
  • To oversee a number of existing programmes in the Community Welfare and Inclusion department.
  • To work on expanding impact, strengthening engagement, and building meaningful connections in the community.
  • To work closely with key stakeholders to promote community offers.
Partnership & Stakeholder Management
  • To proactively develop links and partnerships with local organisations and diverse groups with a view to working collaboratively and collectively.
  • Working closely with the Deputy CEO and key statutory and charity organisations in the Burnley and Pendle area to identify individual and network beneficiaries.
  • To manage and build relationships with key strategic partners and stakeholders across East Lancashire and Nationally.
Performance, Monitoring & Reporting
  • To represent Burnley FC in the Community on multi-agency meetings and panels.
  • Working closely with Senior staff to monitor engagement metrics and track social value data.
  • Promote Burnley FC in the Community in community settings across Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire to ensure a diverse range of participants attend programmes, and the projects achieve their Key Performance Indicators.
Funding & Financial Management
  • To liaise with the marketing department regularly to ensure programmes are promoted accordingly through varied methodologies.
  • Assist the Deputy CEO to secure external funding through a range of sources, including writing funding applications and being aware of commissioning opportunities.
  • To work with the Deputy CEO to support the budget for all Social Inclusion programmes, ensuring budget is correctly planned.
  • To adhere to programmes of funding standards, monitor and communicate progress to the relevant parties.
People Management & Leadership
  • To line manage staff working on programmes including conducting appraisals, return to work and welfare and wider people management responsibilities.
Community Engagement & Promotion
  • To liaise with the marketing department regularly to ensure programmes are promoted accordingly through varied methodologies.
General
  • To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy,procedures,and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices,appropriate reportingofconcernsand contribute positively to a safe environment.
