Community Welfare and Inclusion Officer Help transform lives through sport. Deliver impactful programmes supporting vulnerable and under-represented individuals across Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire!

Job Title: Community Welfare and Inclusion Officer

Department: Health & Wellbeing

Location: Various locations across Burnley and Pendle

Salary: £25,000 - £27,500 per annum

Contract Type: Fixed-Term until 30th June 2027

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week (Mon – Fri), with flexibility required to work occasional evenings to meet the needs of the role.

About the Role:

To deliver across our busy and diverse Community Welfare and Inclusion department which delivers programmes, projects and sessions across the Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire area. In this role you will use the influence of sport to deliver positive change in the lives of under-represented or vulnerable groups and individuals within the local community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To engage, inspire and empower people to reach their full potential.

  • To support a number of programmes with their delivery, namely our Veterans Programme, Health and Wellbeing programmes, Targeted Intervention programmes, and our Youth Engagement programmes.

  • Work with individuals and/or groups from a range of diverse backgrounds.

  • Promote all projects in schools and in community settings across, Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire to ensure that projects achieve their Key Performance Indictors (KPI’s).

Programme Delivery & Participant Engagement
  • To engage, inspire and empower people to reach their full potential.

  • Generate new ideas as to how the Community Welfare and Inclusion department can be developed further, whilst ensuring high quality of delivery.

  • Target areas of greatest need, working with colleagues to identify and respond to the need.

  • To build and maintain strong partnerships with local, regional and national organisations to enhance programmes.
