Our client, is a leading supplier and manufacturer of SMC & BMC materials across Europe.
They are seeking a Lab Technician to join their dynamic team. Based in Burnley, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of their manufacturing and logistics processes.
This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary of between £26,000 to £28,000.
Responsibilities- Ensuring the prompt testing and booking in of conforming and non-conforming raw materials, the testing of conforming and non-conforming finished goods
- Collating and documenting the results
- Reviewing the results to identify any trends
- Escalating any variation with all data and details needed for decision making
- Ensuring the prompt identification and reporting operational trends and functional performance
- Maintaining the schedule of work based on the requirements of the Operations team and the delivery schedule.
The Laboratory Technician will typically be responsible for the following tests:
- Karl Fisher Titration
- Viscosity
- Penetration testing
- Impact, Flexural and Tensile strength.
- Particle size
- Photo spectrometer colour testing
- Resistivity
- Basic Di-Electric Analysis
- Non-conformance & Audit
- Responsible for delivering the Non-Conformance process for QHSE Manager.
- Collate and Report
- Issue NCR to responsible Manager
- Escalate Failure to close out to agreed schedule
- Collate and Report
- Escalate NCR to Quality Manager
- Escalate Failure to close out to agreed schedule
- Maintains the Schedule
- Maintains any internal NCR arising as per NCR process
- The ideal candidate would be a fast moving, team player with competency in Excel and Outlook.
- Have a basic knowledge and understanding of ISO
9001 & 14001. - Some experience of internal audit.
- Have prior experience of working with SAP S4/Hana in a quality capacity.
- Previous FLT training would be ideal, but not essential.
This role will be full time at the Burnley Headquarters.
