Classroom Assistant | Burnsville, Minnesota

Step into a pivotal role supporting students in a high-needs focus classroom. This contract position calls for a compassionate and resourceful professional ready to make a substantial impact. Work within a vibrant educational environment from 8:45am to 4:00pm, fostering growth and building relationships with school-aged children who require extra support throughout their day.

• Minimum of two years of college credits from an accredited institution,
  or possession of an associate degree or higher
• Or a passing score on an approved formal academic assessment (such as Para Pro, Para Pathways, The Master Teacher),
  or demonstration of competencies outlined by the MDE
• PCA certificate required (or willingness to obtain onefree and can be completed in under an hour)
• At least one year of experience working with school-aged children in a professional setting is required
• Ideally, two or more years of school-based paraprofessional experience

• Assist in daily classroom operations, ensuring students with special needs receive academic and behavioral support
• Implement individualized learning strategies as directed by certified educators
• Foster a safe, supportive atmosphere to promote students educational and social development
• Collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and fellow school staff
• Support personal care and mobility needs, maintaining dignity and respect for each student
