The Senior Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials Design Engineer will work in the Engines and MEMS Sensors design team developing highly reliable products which meet customer specified requirements/expectations at the lowest competitive cost. The engineer will be a highly motivated self-starter who will be capable of leading their own projects including schedule management and providing mentoring to other engineers. The engineer will be expected to represent the organization as prime customer contact on existing products and new designs, including making presentations to customers.

What You Will Do:

Support bids and proposals for new engine sensors

Support existing designs with failure investigations, product improvements, and documentation updates Thoroughly review and understand product specifications and determine design requirements and scope of work.

Support complex, multi-discipline teams

Perform estimates of effort and duration for tasks.

Create and manage project schedules.

Requirements management and convergence planning.

Prepare and present stage gate design reviews both internally and externally to customers.

Generate design concepts in conformance with requirements and ensure that adequate trade studies and analyses are performed to arrive at optimum design configurations.

Perform tolerance analyses on components and assemblies to ensure proper fit/ proficient in CAD solid modeling techniques to prepare component and assembly models and drawings.

Writing test requests, supporting design verification testing, and coordinating with test department.

Specify materials including high temperature, corrosion and oxidation resistant alloys

Specify material joining methods and specifications for processes such as welding and brazing

Provide necessary engineering support for new hardware coordination and fabrication.

Provide MRB (Material Review Board) support and disposition nonconforming products.

Interface with all other functional groups and departments as required in the development of the product design.
