As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide essential care, guidance, and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs. At The Cottages Group, we believe in fostering inclusion, compassion, and respect to enhance the lives of those we serve.

• Assist individuals in achieving their personal goals through daily support and engagement.
• Follow person-centered and behavior support plans to ensure the highest quality of care.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for residents.
• Build trusting relationships with individuals under your care.
• Prepare meals according to dietary guidelines and assist with meal planning.
• Provide transportation, attend appointments, and advocate on behalf of residents.
• Support residents with laundry and maintain a clean living environment.
• Administer medications as needed and ensure compliance with care plans.
• Remain awake and accessible in homes that require 24/7 supervision.

Requirements

• Ability to move frequently throughout the workday.
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to handle mental and emotional challenges with professionalism.
• Must meet company health requirements and be able to work with individuals with varying disabilities and conditions.
• Must be able to push, pull, or carry a minimum of 80 lbs over 10 feet.
