Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN seeks a passionate and hardworking Nursing Assistant to join the Medical Surgical Cardiology/IMC unit. The unit is located just 20 minutes south of Minneapolis near the 35E and 35W junction.

This position is a .6 FTE, working 48 hours per 2‑week pay period. Shift schedule: 8‑hour shifts, every other weekend rotation (Fri, Sat, Sun), and evening shift (3 pm‑11:30 pm).

The Nursing Assistant assists the professional nurse/caregiver in delivering patient care.

Responsibilities include:

• Personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding
• Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams
• Oral hygiene
• Specimen collection/testing
• Position/ambulating
• Changing linens
• Promptly answers call lights
• Assists the nurse in monitoring patient condition
• Accurately takes and records weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, oxygen saturation
• Places patient on/off monitors or equipment
• Reports unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge
• Orients patient and family to the environment
• Assures patient belongings are accounted for, documented upon admission, transfer, and discharge
• Transports patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies
• Ensures patients get to appointments on time
• Uses transfer belt when assisting with transfers/ambulation
• Cleans, sets up, and maintains rooms and equipment
• Orders and stocks supplies
• Accurately documents tasks performed on the appropriate form
• Performs other tasks as needed

• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview‑sponsored Nursing Assistant program
• Six months of recent direct‑care experience in a long‑term, home‑care, or acute‑care setting (roles may include Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant, or Emergency Room Technician)
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one semester of clinical rotation
• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire (does not need maintenance throughout employment)
• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. OnTrack participants must obtain BLS certification upon completion of the program
