Job Introduction

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team on an 18 month fixed term contract.

Business Support is key to the success of our Children’s Services because our Business Support teams are there, making sure things run smoothly, so that our frontline colleagues can deliver for children and families in the community. All that work in the background doesn’t just happen, it takes dedicated colleagues, taking pride in their work and seeing a purpose in the work they are doing.

It is 22 hours working across 3 days a week, Wednesday & Thursday 8.30 am until 5.00 pm and Friday 8.30 - 4.30pm.

The nature of the roles means it is office based.

Main Responsibilities

You’ll be:

  • Be frontline staff to greet customers/professionals to meetings.
  • Be the first point of contact for all telephone calls into our busy office from members of the public and professionals.
  • Dealing with queries, transferring and signposting.
  • Using a customer based information system.
  • Undertaking financial transactions including placing orders
  • Assisting with Health and Safety within the office.
The Ideal Candidate

The minimum criteria that will be used to shortlist for this role will be:

  • Good communication skills because you’ll interact with lots of people across the organisation and externally through phone, in person and email.
  • Good organisation skills and attention to detail, as you’ll be keeping data updated and you’ll be working to deadlines
  • A flexible approach to work as sometimes things can change, and so you’ll need to be able to prioritise work and sometimes change tasks quickly
  • A passion to always give the best service
  • A knowledge of Health and Safety in an office environment

We hope to be able to hold Interviews during the week starting 2 November 2026.

Our Recruitment Process: We anonymise applications during shortlisting to ensure only relevant information is considered. Please complete your application fully, especially the supporting statement, to highlight what you’ll bring to the role.

Please note:
The minimum criteria in the ideal candidate section detailed above will be used if you are applying under one of our Interview Guarantee Schemes, detailed below.
