Maths Tutor | Burton upon Trent (DE14) | Up To £30 Per Hour | Long-term to Permanent | Start: 05/01/26 | 4 Days a Week:
Monday - Thursday

An outstanding FE College is seeking a motivated Maths Tutor to join the Faculty of Mathematics. You'll deliver engaging and high-quality GCSE Maths lessons to 16-19-year-old learners studying a variety of vocational and academic courses. These learners are retaking their GCSE Maths to work towards achieving a grade 4 or above, and you'll play a key role in supporting them to build confidence and reach their goals.

This is a temp-to-perm position, initially offered at four days per week. The role includes delivering 21 hours of GCSE Maths teaching, along with three hours of paid administrative time.

Key Responsibilities

Working hours are four full days a week, Monday - Thursday. 9.00 - 16.30.
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging GCSE maths lessons.
Support learners in achieving their qualifications and targets.
Provide constructive feedback and track learner progress.
Prepare students for exams, assessments, and practical maths applications.
Coordinate and book assessments across all maths courses.
Maintain high standards in the delivery of all maths programmes.
Keep up to date with curriculum developments, assessment specifications, and best practice in maths education.
What We're Looking For

Someone who can start on Monday 5th January 2026
Must have a DBS on the Update System
A genuine passion for teaching maths and inspiring learners to achieve their potential.
Strong maths knowledge, with higher-level qualifications in mathematics.
Experience in Secondary and FE teaching is advantageous, but enthusiasm, adaptability, and a learner-focused approach are equally valued.
Highly organised, flexible, and committed to supporting students' progress and confidence in maths.
Ability to create engaging, accessible lessons that make maths relevant and enjoyable for all learners.
