We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Wabtec UK based in Burton on Trent where we support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.

How will you make a difference?

As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical expertise for our product group. You’ll deliver engineering solutions that improve safety, reliability, and performance, working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

What will your typical day look like?
  • Provide electrical engineering, experience and skills to Wabtec UK.
  • On-site engineering support for day-to-day technical issues arising from production, projects, quality and procurement (production and technical queries, inspections, conditional assessment and joint investigations support).
  • Manage of creating and updating of technical and schematic drawings, and associated documentation.
  • Raising and managing ECR`s (Engineering Change Requests).
  • Act as the UK interface to WITEC and contracted third parties and suppliers.
  • Resolve engineering issues arising from production queries.
  • Assist in the implementation of any specification or product change.
  • Production of technical reports, change documentation, test plans, supplier specifications and overhaul specifications.
  • Provide risk evaluation, assessment and mitigation evidence for product safety hazards.
  • Support investigations into failures of systems and components, determine root cause and present findings.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are completed in line with timescales as agreed with Engineering management.
What do we want to know about you?
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in an electrical engineering discipline.
  • Experience in the specification, design, testing, maintenance, and failure investigation of electrical systems and components.
  • Experience of providing technical support to a production (shop floor) environment.
