Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee refurbishment and fit-out projects across a portfolio of industrial units and warehouses. The role involves managing programmes of work as tenants vacate and new occupiers move in, delivering schemes typically around £1m in value. Projects are primarily UK-wide, with a central hub operating between Oxford and York.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver refurbishment and fit-out projects across industrial and warehouse sites nationally.
  • Oversee project lifecycle from scope creation to completion, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
  • Develop and control project programmes using tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Produce detailed scopes of work, schedules, and contract documentation.
  • Coordinate with site teams, stakeholders, subcontractors, and external suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards across all sites.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently within a fast-paced SME environment.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management and maintain accurate project documentation.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience managing construction, fit-out, or refurbishment projects-ideally within industrial or warehousing environments.
  • Comfortable working within an SME setting, taking ownership of programme control, scope writing, and delivery.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple live projects.
  • Competent in Microsoft Project and general project management software.
  • A practical, proactive, and solutions-focused approach to site challenges.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Location Requirements

  • Ideally located within approximately one hour of the central office.
  • Expected to be in the office 1-2 days per week, with site attendance as required depending on project workload.

Package

  • Salary: up to £55,000
  • Car allowance included
  • Additional benefits aligned with role responsibilities
