Are you a skilled Manual Machinist with experience on a variety of machines, such as Mills, Lathes and Grinders, and looking for a senior role within a growing team? If yes, read on
My client is an established engineering manufacturing firm based in Burton-upon-Trent and commutable from Derby, Lichfield, Nottingham, Tamworth, Stafford, Loughborough and Leicester. They are currently looking for a skilled Manual Machinist to join their team.
The Role:
Toolroom Machinist
- Manual Turning, Manual Milling and Manual Grinding, to help produce parts for special-purpose machinery
- Working from technical drawings to manufacture parts, and ensuring all is done in a safe and effective manner
- Basic CNC machine operating
- Assisting with machine fitting and assembly
- Using your engineering knowledge and technical insight to problem solve and fault find
- Potentially installing machines on customer sites with the mechanical team, as well as undertaking service and repair work when necessary
- Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment
Minimum Skills / Experience
Required:
Manual Machinist
- Proven experience with Manual Machining (Turning, Milling, Grinding),
- Skilled in operating Manual Machines, such as Lathes, Grinders and Mills
- Some CNC Milling or XYZ is desirable
- Mechanical assembly and fitting, or an interest in this area, are highly desirable
- Ability to read and work from schematics and technical drawings
- Comfortable working with fellow engineers on projects and tasks, and working alone
- Competent in the realms of time management, planning and prioritisation
- Hardworking and professional, easy-going and friendly, self-motivated, and you take pride in your work
- Knowledge of and adherence to health and safety standards in an engineering environment
The Package:
Manual Machinist / Fitter
- Up to £45k per annum
- Annual bonus (discretionary)
- Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 07 00, Friday 07 00
- Overtime available at x1.5
- 28 days holiday plus Xmas
- Pension scheme
