The site Unilever Manufacturing Systems (UMS) Lead is responsible for managing and driving the implementation of UMS in his/her sourcing unit. The lead reports to the Operations Manager and is a member of the factory extended leadership team. They are responsible to develop a UMS Masterplan from the site manufacturing strategy, providing UMS skill development, and coaching for all operators, engineers, supervisors and managers in the sourcing unit.

They will also coordinate all UMS activities for loss eradication within manufacturing inbound and out bound supply chain context and will lead the Focused Improvement Pillar. Additionally, They will be the manager of the site’s UMS Specialist and Manufacturing Technician’s. The site UMS Lead has a direct impact on improvement of manufacturing performance (e.g. OEE, Service, Productivity).

• Responsible for the implementation, management, and successful operation of UMS in the plant, including Run To Standard (R2S) program.
• Plan:
  Create an overall UMS masterplan and ensure these are aligned with the category manufacturing strategy and with the business needs.
• Leads execution by engaging external stakeholders and factory leadership team.
• Facilitates the development of individual pillars, sets benchmarks, and tracks completion of pillar goals, including participation in pillar meetings, team meetings and activities.
• Implements appropriate reviews (monthly, quarterly) to evaluate both pillars and departments progress in their UMS plans.
• Coaching:
  
  Develops Pillar leaders by coordinating leadership education: pillar leaders training, hands on workshops, benchmark trips, etc.
• Manage the UMS team (UMS specialist and Manufacturing Technician’s Serves as a resource and coach for questions and practices regarding UMS: serves as a UMS champion in the factory to promote UMS amongst management and employees
• Coordinates activities with outside stakeholders. Culture Change agent Be a prophet of the zero loss vision Master the integration between UMS and factory results, clarifying and coaching the focus on efficiency (planned and unplanned), cent relines and Changeovers, maintenance basics, downtime tracking, analysis, and review process.
• Ensure that the link between UMS and improving results is celebrated by setting up mini celebrations of successes (lines exceeding OEE targets, success case studies, passing steps, etc), competitions (waste projects, best OPL, best Kaizen, lines exceeding a true efficiency level) and communication plans.
• Focused Improvement Pillar leader Lead the Pillar and its governance.
• Lead factory-wide training on problem solving techniques and sponsor quarterly projects, starting with factory leadership team and in synch with R2S journey.
• Create and track productivity masterplan for the factory.

• Can-do, proactive attitude.
• Strong technical background, Engineering/Science university degree preferable.
• Knowledge of UMS, WCM or TPM or Continuous Improvements techniques and their practical application
• Strong people skills and a ‘servant leadership’ mindset towards his/her team and the core operational team.
• Strong analytical skills, data-driven mindset & a Logical problem solver.
