Urology Triage Nurse

About this role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Specialist Nurse to join our Urology department at Queens Hospital Burton on Trent. This Band 6 position offers an active role in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and an opportunity to support the care of Uro/oncology patients across the trust.

• Take an active role in MDT meetings and continually develop clinical skills and knowledge.
• Support the management of patients in a range of Uro/oncology appointments – including receiving cancer results, attending stable prostate cancer follow‑up clinics, performing local anaesthetic prostate biopsies, and triaging Urology concerns.
• Independently assess and triage patients, ensuring appropriate and timely ordering of investigations to support safe and effective care pathways.
• Contribute to high‑quality patient management and work closely with the wider team for seamless coordination across services.

• Previous experience in Urology nursing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to assess and triage patients and order investigations independently.
• Band 6 (or equivalent) level of nursing experience.
