What you will do
  • Manage a complex caseload involving Child in Need, Child Protection, Children in Care, and Public Law Outline/Care Proceedings work.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional guidance to social workers, including Newly Qualified Social Workers and students.
  • Support the Team Manager with case allocation, risk management, decision-making, and general service delivery oversight.
  • Chair and contribute to strategy discussions, core group meetings, professional meetings, and multi-agency safeguarding forums.
Person Specification Qualifications
  • Hold a Degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, MA or equivalent).
  • Successfully completed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
  • Demonstrate evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Registration & Compliance
  • Must be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
Experience
  • Bring a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience within statutory children’s social care.
  • Show significant experience managing complex safeguarding cases involving child protection and court work.
  • Experience in supporting, mentoring, or supervising social work practitioners.
