Malachi is an innovative specialist therapeutic family support organisation founded in 1991. We work across the Midlands and Staffordshire providing support in over 300 schools and community settings to parent/carers, young people and professionals through a range of counselling based therapeutic interventions to create lasting change.

About the role

As a Family Support Worker with Malachi, you will be enabling families to achieve and maintain outcomes that best supports them. No two days will be the same, as you will be working within different community settings or the homes of those we support within the West Midlands area. Meeting with families to provide a package of support interventions to meet their targeted needs.

You will be proactively engaging and supporting families to strengthen and improve their outcomes, develop their resilience and reduce dependency on external specialist services. You will also be working directly with parents to uncover underlying issues, enabling them to gain and maintain independence and control over all aspects of their lives.

This role will involve travelling to Cannock, Lichfield, Tamworth and East Staffordshire.

It is envisaged that this role initially will be primarily based in the District of East Staffordshire.

About You

As a Malachi Family Support Worker you will need to be an energetic communicator with excellent engagement and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with young people, parent/carers and professionals. You will be committed to enhancing the lives of children, young people and their families. You will also need to be emotionally resilient and be able to maintain a professional relationship with those that we support.

We value our employees and offer a competitive starting salary of £25,250 per year, increasing to £26,500 after a successful probation period. Our benefits package also includes an industry-leading 45 days of PAID annual leave. Raising to 50 days following the April after your 12 month anniversary.
