Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Weekly Rate: 550 - 750 per week (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term time only

We're partnering with a highly regarded specialist SEND school in Bury - a values-led community with an outstanding reputation for supporting young people aged 11-19 with complex learning and social, emotional, and mental health needs. About the Role:
As a Youth Mentor, you'll be a trusted, consistent presence for students who need it most. Working within a supportive and experienced team, you'll deliver one-to-one mentoring, facilitate group sessions, assist in classroom environments, and provide calm, compassionate support during moments of crisis. This is a role where your relationship with a young person is the intervention - and where every day brings a new opportunity to have a lasting impact.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in a mentoring, youth work, behaviour support, or pastoral role
-ideally within a SEND, SEMH, or alternative provision setting - A strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Emotionally resilient, calm under pressure, and solutions-focused in complex situations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - with students, families, and wider professionals
- A creative, energetic approach to re-engaging young people who have disengaged from traditional education
- A background in psychology, social work, youth services, or mental health is a strong advantage
To Be Eligible You Must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one
- Provide two professional references from child-related roles
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
