Salary: Grade2 scp 3-4 Actual Salary £13,887 - £15,064 (£24,796- £25,185 FTE)
Term of Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Term Time Only
Hours per week: 21.25 hours per week
Start date: 1st September 2026

St Michael’s RC Primary School are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level
1). This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi‑academy trust.
Working mainly, but not exclusively, with a child with SEN the postholder will support the child to thrive and develop within the school environment. Working alongside the teaching and support staff the postholder will take a full part in the life of the school. Lunchtime cover will also be a responsibility of this role.
Qualifications- Has experience of working with children in a paid/voluntary capacity
- Is calm and compassionate with the sensitivity to work with children with Special Educational Needs and their parents/carers
- Is a team player, understands classroom roles and responsibilities and will support whole‑school activity
- Understands how to keep children safe and can deal calmly and effectively with accidents, emergencies and illness
- Can contribute to the development of children’s communication, as well as physical, emotional and social needs
- Will encourage and support children’s rights and choices in play, enabling creativity and offering a range of opportunities
- Promote positive behaviour, implement agreed behaviour management strategies and support children in taking responsibility for their own learning and behaviour
