Job Summary Inclusion Support Assistant (SEMH)

This role focuses on supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within an Achievement Centre provision. The postholder acts as a key worker for a group of pupils, delivering targeted interventions as part of a structured reintegration programme aimed at returning students to mainstream education.

Key responsibilities include building consistent, supportive relationships with pupils, developing personalised support and reintegration plans, and monitoring progress in behaviour, attendance and engagement. The role also involves using restorative approaches to manage behaviour, supporting emotional regulation, and helping pupils successfully transition back into regular lessons.

The Inclusion Support Assistant works closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support. They contribute to the daily running and development of the provision, as well as wider school priorities around inclusion, wellbeing, and behaviour.

In addition, the role requires adherence to safeguarding, confidentiality, and school policies, alongside maintaining professional standards, supporting equality and inclusion, and engaging in ongoing training and development.
