Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN School
Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at a specialist primary SEN school in Bury from September 2026.

The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and learning disabilities. You will help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assist with the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and personal development.
- Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and external agencies.
- Experience working with children, ideally within an SEN or primary school setting.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
