Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and project teams, you will play a key role in cost control, contract administration, and commercial reporting, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement (2-3 days on site in Bury St Edmunds), with the remainder working flexibly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the commercial management of power and utilities projects
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
  • Monitor project costs and assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Administer contracts (including NEC and/or JCT) under guidance of senior team members
  • Support the management of compensation events, variations, and change control
  • Assist with subcontractor account management including payments and valuations
  • Support procurement activities including tender analysis and contract documentation
  • Help identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Produce accurate and timely commercial reports for internal and client stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and commercial teams
About You
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within utilities, energy, or infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to substation, overhead line, or similar civil engineering works (desirable)
  • Understanding of NEC or JCT contracts
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and reporting skills
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, project-driven environment
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and commercial systems
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience (desirable)
Whats on Offer

  • Exposure to substation and overhead line programmes
  • Supportive consultancy environment with strong development opportunities
  • Clear progression pathway toward Senior Quantity Surveyor level
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
