Pay: £40,000 starting salary

  • After 3 6 months: £45,000
  • After 12 months: £53,500

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Deputy or Senior looking to step up into a Trainee Children s Residential Manager role for an Ofsted-registered Children s Home in Bury. This is a full-time, permanent position offering structured mentoring and full support from a Senior Manager to help you develop into the role. The home will provide care for between 1 and 3 children.

You will play a key part in delivering high-quality care while progressing into management, making a real difference to the lives of the young people we support.

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am 5pm

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations of the children s home, ensuring a safe and positive environment for residents
  • Deliver high-quality care in line with individual care plans and Ofsted standards
  • Develop leadership skills under the guidance and mentoring of a Senior Manager
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children to promote resilience, independence, and personal development
  • Contribute to safeguarding practices, risk assessments, and the overall wellbeing of residents
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and external professionals
  • Uphold the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical conduct

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children s Residential Care (or equivalent)
  • Experience as a Deputy or Senior in an Ofsted-registered children s home
  • Knowledge of Ofsted standards and processes
  • Proven leadership and communication skills to inspire and motivate a team
  • A commitment to delivering the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical conduct
  • Passion for transforming the lives of children
  • Motivation to progress into management with structured mentoring and support
