Summary
We are seeking a competent and proactive Site Manager to provide holiday cover on a food factory project currently at the steel frame stage. The role requires overseeing day-to-day site operations, managing subcontractors, and ensuring strict adherence to health and safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and coordinating all site activities to ensure smooth progress during the cover period.
Due to client policy, payment will be processed exclusively via an Umbrella company, with no CIS payments accepted.
This is a short-term opportunity starting on 5th March 2026, ideal for an experienced Site Manager with relevant certifications and a strong focus on health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise all site activities during the steel frame phase.
Oversee subcontractors and ensure their work complies with project requirements.
Implement and monitor health and safety procedures on site.
Conduct regular site inspections and maintain site records.
Liaise with client representatives and other stakeholders as required.
Facilitate a smooth handover process at the end of the cover period.
Skills
Proven site management experience, preferably in industrial or food factory environments.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage subcontractors effectively.
Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Organisational skills to manage site logistics and scheduling.
Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
Ability to maintain accurate site documentation.
Team coordination and stakeholder management.
Time management and prioritisation skills.
Adaptability to short-term assignments and handover processes.
Certifications & Standards
CITB SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – mandatory
Valid First Aid certification – mandatory
CSCS Card – mandatory
