General Operative, Construction

As a General Operative, you will play a key role in delivering a wide range of civil engineering and utility works across our projects. Working as part of a site team, you will carry out construction activities safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards, supporting the successful delivery of projects for our clients across East Anglia the East Midlands and South Lincolnshire.

The role is varied and will involve working on water, wastewater, highways and infrastructure schemes throughout our operational areas.

Site Duties

• Carry out general civil engineering and groundwork activities.
• Assist with excavations, reinstatements, ducting, drainage, pipe laying and concreting works.
• Operate hand tools, small plant and equipment safely and efficiently (where trained and authorised).
• Load, unload and move materials, tools and equipment around site.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining safe working areas, including barriers, signage and traffic management.
• Support colleagues to ensure work is completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and keep work areas clean and organised.
• Follow instructions from Supervisors, Gangers and Site Managers.
