I'm working with a family-run interiors subcontractor based in the East Midlands who are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join them on a large industrial project in Bury St Edmunds.
Working for the interiors subcontractor with the Principal Contractor as the client, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of their package on site, managing subcontractors and coordinating works to ensure everything is delivered safely, on programme and to the required standard.
You'll report into a visiting Project Manager, so this is a good opportunity for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of the site and managing their own day-to-day workload.
The Role:
- Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the interiors package
- Managing subcontractors and coordinating trades on site
- Working closely with the Principal Contractor and wider site team
- Ensuring works are delivered to programme and specification
- Monitoring quality and managing any issues or snagging
- Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics
- Maintaining health & safety and site standards
- Providing regular updates to the visiting Project Manager
- Attending site meetings and coordinating with the PC where required
- Keeping site records and ensuring relevant paperwork is maintained
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager working for an interiors or fit-out subcontractor
- Experience working on large-scale industrial or commercial projects
- Strong subcontractor and trade management experience
- Confident dealing directly with Principal Contractors
- Able to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a project
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid
- Strong communication and organisational skills
