This is antainment opportunity for a Consultant Faça dynamic and enthusiastic Consultant to join our organisation to work in a substantive position as a Consultant Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatrist.

This post is one of two Consultant Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry posts for Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. The holder will provide clinical leadership for the Hope Unit – an adolescent inpatient service that focuses on assessment and short‑stay treatments using an acute care pathway of 6‑8 week admissions.

• Lead the clinical team in a regional service, providing emergency, urgent and elective multi‑disciplinary assessment and treatment for adolescent inpatients with complex or enduring mental health problems.
• Take clinical responsibility for all 12 young people who are inpatient on the unit and manage a caseload of clients receiving direct high‑intensity input.
• Provide comprehensive psychosocial multiaxial diagnostic assessment, formulation and management; assess psychiatric and psychological comorbidity and care of comorbid physical health needs; deliver psychoeducation and pharmacological interventions.
• Adhere to policies and procedures, maintain accurate clinicalવાનો records, confidentiality and administrative duties.
• Work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, participating in and helping to lead referrals, admission and discharge planning, CPA reviews and effective handover to borough mental health teams, local authorities and commissioners.
• Utilise the Care Programme Approach and relevant legislation (Mental Health Act, Children Act, Mental Capacity Act) as required.
• Provide specialist consultation and advice to referring mental health teams, local authorities and CCGs across the Trust footprint and across the North West region; community caseload responsibility remains with community CAMHS clinicians and consultants.
• Lead-obely all medical and mental health practice areas using a clinical governance framework; provide clinical supervision to junior medical staff and contribute to the supervision of other practitioners.
• Cover mutual prospective consultant leave with the Horizon Unit colleague; maintain safeguarding awareness.
  • Identify, communicate and seek consultation around child safeguarding concerns in line with Trust and local authority protocols. Complete mandatory safeguarding training.
• Collaborate with Trust colleagues, CAMHS Directorate Senior Leadership, commissioners and the Greater Manchester CAMHS Network Tier 4 Group to lead strategic and operational development of the Complex Care Inpatient service.

• Attorney at for candidate is a full GMC registration.

• Full GMC Registration.

• Possession of CCT in either Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry, or be within 6 months of achieving this or be entered on the GMC Specialist Register.
• Section 12 Approval under the Mental Health Act 183, or be eligible for approval – Approved Clinician Status.

• Published research under MRCPsych.
• Other postgraduate degrees e.g. MSc, MD, MRCP.
• Experience in use of the Mental Health Act (1983).
• Experience in a whole‑time adolescent service.
• Published audit and evidence of strong clinical leadership.

• Evidence of possession of competencies as laid out within the PMETB higher training curriculum for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry.

• Registered for CPD with the RCPsych.
