Specialist in General Medicine

Overview

West Suffolk Foundation Trust is recruiting a Specialty Doctor to join the G10 ward team in General Medicine based at the main hospital site. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care they need and will be an integral part of the G10 team.

• Ensure patients receive high‑quality, person‑centred care by providing skilled clinical input, supporting complex assessments and contributing to robust treatment planning.
• Work closely with two other doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care, timely interventions, and safe, effective service delivery.
• Develop advanced clinical skills, take on meaningful responsibility within the team, and play an important part in improving outcomes.
• Support the current delivery of general medical inpatient services at the West Suffolk Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
• Maintain cross‑cover sessions with colleagues to support leave or sickness and to maintain smooth working and efficiency of the department.
• Adapt to changing ward requirements, including isolation and contact flu/Covid areas during pandemic periods and winter pressures.

• Registered Specialty Doctor with the required experience.
• Pre‑requisite leadership skills, teamwork, drive and ambition to achieve Ward G10 goals.
