Job description

This role offers the opportunity to support pupils with SEMH needs, including those with ASD and ADHD, in a setting that prioritises emotional well-being, consistency, and tailored learning approaches.

You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning successfully through supportive relationships and thoughtful adaptation of classroom practice.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for KS1 and KS2 pupils with diverse needs.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Create a calm, supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with support staff to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Foster resilience, confidence, and independence in learners.
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare.
Ideal KS1/2 Teacher
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching KS1 and/or KS2.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH, ASD, and ADHD needs and effective support strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and establish trust with learners.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Resilience, patience, and a reflective approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to promoting pupil well-being and academic development.
