Electrical Engineering Apprentice - Job

In this apprenticeship you will follow an Electrical Engineering pathway, learning the science behind sugar production and working with electrical and mechanical equipment plus highly automated programmable control systems. This includes a broad range of electrical areas from motors, high voltage distribution, transformers, pneumatics, and process instrumentation, as well as mechanical biased subjects such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and elevators.

It is a 42‑month programme following the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Standard, achieving a Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering qualification alongside practical experience, preparing you to move into an Electrical Technician role.

You will work from our Bury St Edmunds, Cantley, Newark or Wissington factory sites, 5 days a week Monday‑Friday for 8 hours each day, and attend college 1 day per week. After progressing to an Electrical Technician role you may need to work a 12‑hour shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off, including some weekends and bank holidays.

What will you need? You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Level 5/C or above, including Maths, English and a Science.
