About the RoleStonetech Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established and innovative manufacturing business seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team.
This is a key strategic appointment where you'll lead the company's product development function, driving innovation from concept through to commercialisation while shaping the future direction of the product portfolio.
You'll manage a small but highly skilled engineering team, combining technical leadership with commercial thinking to identify new opportunities, improve existing products and support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of new products from concept through to launch.
- Drive continuous improvement and enhancement of existing product ranges.
- Identify opportunities to introduce products into new markets and applications.
- Provide technical leadership across the business, ensuring products meet customer requirements, regulatory standards and manufacturing capability.
- Work closely with senior management to influence business strategy through technical expertise.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Product Development, R&D and Software Engineers.
- Manage product roadmaps, development projects and engineering priorities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, sales and customers to ensure successful product delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
We're looking for someone who combines strong engineering knowledge with commercial awareness and proven leadership experience.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading New Product Development (NPD) within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience taking products from concept through design, testing and commercial launch.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing technical or engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical excellence against business objectives.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- HVAC or industrial product manufacturing.
- Technically complex mechanical products.
- Research & Development environments.
- Software or electronic product integration.
- Experience working within regulated or quality-driven manufacturing industries.
- £60,000 - £75,000 depending on experience.
