Location: Bury St. Edmunds

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Tax Director to join a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Bury St Edmunds, offering flexible working, a generous company pension, and much more. This role represents a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded Private Client Tax Director to take ownership of a substantial portfolio, lead and develop a talented team, and contribute directly to the strategic growth of the tax function.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and manage a significant portfolio of private clients, including high net worth individuals and trusts
  • Provide strategic tax planning advice across income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax
  • Oversee and develop the private client tax team, including mentoring and technical training
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, introducers, and other professional contacts
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and support the strategic growth of the department

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • CTA qualified with significant post-qualification experience at a senior or director level
  • Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing a team
  • Excellent technical knowledge of private client tax compliance and advisory work
  • Commercially astute with strong business development capability
