Exciting Opportunity Alert:
Join Our Dynamic Social Work Team at Bury Council! Team:
Adult Social Care - Reviewing Team

Are you ready to embark on a fulfilling journey in social care, making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults? Look no further! Bury Council is seeking a passionate and dedicated reviewing officer to join our vibrant team and contribute to our ambitious vision for Bury. We consider a review to be a fantastic opportunity to really explore what the desired outcomes are for those in receipt of care and support services, and we look at which of these outcomes are opportunities for development and the promotion of further independence.

We aim to use the review as an opportunity to help people fulfil their own individual potential for independence and then ensure that they are given the support to maintain this level of independence for as long as possible.

We focus on how people can be supported by the strengths they have in themselves, their network of support from family, friends and their local communities. Where care and support is required, we work to ensure that this reflects the individual’s assessed needs and strengths, while promoting their independence, choice and control.

In accordance with Section 27 of the Care Act 2014, our team currently completes the planned annual reviews of care and support packages and the planned initial 68‑week reviews for those recently discharged from Intermediate Tier services. We complete planned reviews across the 5 Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, specialist teams and out of borough care placements. We also complete the majority of the follow‑up reviews after a customer has been discharged from hospital with care and support services either into their own home or into a care home.

We strive to promote an individual’s independence, supporting them to do as much for themselves as possible by adopting a strengths‑based approach and ensure that customers have the right amount of care at the right time.

Why Choose Us?

At Bury Council, we're not just a workplace; we're a close-knit community committed to empowering both our residents and our employees. As part of our team, you'll enjoy a supportive and rewarding environment where your professional growth is nurtured and celebrated. Plus, we recognize your hard work with exclusive rewards and benefits, including:

  • Supportive working arrangements to maintain a healthy work‑life balance
  • Access to exclusive gym membership prices and salary‑sacrifice schemes including Viv Up
  • Generous annual leave allowance including Greater Manchester Combined Authority continuous service commitment
  • Highly competitive local government pension scheme and employee wellbeing support services
About the Role

  • Continuing your own professional development and supporting the ongoing development of the team
