Overview
This job is to expand the gynaecology‑oncology team at West Suffolk Hospital. The successful candidate will provide both obstetric and gynaecology care, with 1:9 on‑calls. The main area of work will be with the gynaecology‑oncology team, including clinics, participating in local and regional MDTs and major operating. It is an excellent opportunity to put into practice and enhance the surgical skills gained during training.
The job will have opportunity to do outpatient hysteroscopies and antenatal clinics. Acute gynaecology sessions provide emergency gynaecology patients good senior care and gives the doctors a very good platform to manage situations timely and also in teaching junior doctors. There is also an opportunity to develop new and improved pathways for benign as well as oncology teams.
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of all obstetrics and gynaecology patients
- To share with colleagues responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department
- Teaching and training of junior medical staff, nursing staff, and medical students
- To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit
- To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD)
- The candidates are expected to demonstrate ATSMs in surgical field and also previous experience of working with cancer teams at consultant level.
