An opportunity has arisen within WSH Deteriorating Patient Team Service for aResuscitation Practitioner (s). This post is open to RN, ODP's and Paramedics, andcan be offered flexibly.

Resuscitation Services are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to join an established team. The applicant should possess teaching skills, with the ability toadapt their style for the diverse groups of staff requiring resuscitation education.

Applicants need three years post registration experience in a related acute area(I.e. ED, Acute Medicine, CCS etc).The applicants should possess a relevant teaching qualification and / or an up todate Resuscitation Council (UK) Instructor Course (EG mentorship, ILSi, GIC etc.). In addition, the applicant's knowledge should be up to date with Resuscitation Council (UK) and European Resuscitation Council guidelines, and be able to deliver these guidelines and related issues in a formal and informal teaching setting.

Main duties of the job

To deliver a high standard of training and education to trust staff, and outside organisations,regarding resuscitation

To support staff and offer specialist advice and guidance / feedback in relation to resuscitation issues

To support the implementation of current national guidelines within the trust (I.e. ERC)
Assist with the provision and delivery of basic life support training for the Trust in accordance with national and international guidelines

To participate in the audit and monitoring of standards of resuscitation practice and equipment within the trust.

Assist the senior resuscitation practitioner with the procurement and monitoring of clinical equipment used during resuscitation, and training materials within the  conjunction with the resuscitation services manager & team, assist with the delivery of nationally recognised courses, and other in-house and external training as appropriate toability.

Job responsibilities

Work alongside the resuscitation & outreach team to deliver education within the trust regarding resuscitation, using up to date ERC guidelines.

Ensure that mandatory training (Trust matrix) is delivered to specified staff groups,appropriate to level of understanding.

Work alongside the resuscitation & outreach team delivering Resuscitation Council (UK) courses to trust staff and staff from outside organisations, adhering to RC rules and regulations, upholding a high standard of education.

Assist and help with the delivery of RC courses, (ILS, pILS, ALS and re-certification courses) as requested and appropriate to ability.
