Maintenance Supervisor

About The Role:

GFM is looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor with a strong electrical background to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in facilities management and maintenance supervision to take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of maintenance services across a busy contract. You will manage reactive maintenance performance, monitor SLAs and KPIs, coordinate engineers and contractors, and ensure all works are completed safely, compliantly and to the required standard.

You will be responsible for overseeing a range of maintenance activities, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fabric, HVAC and specialist services. Working closely with the Contract Manager, you will identify potential performance issues, implement recovery plans and drive continuous improvement across the contract.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing and monitoring maintenance SLAs and KPIs across the contract

Overseeing reactive maintenance from initial notification through to completion

Reviewing outstanding and overdue jobs and taking proactive action to prevent SLA failures

Allocating work to suitably qualified engineers and contractors

Managing and monitoring contractor performance, quality, compliance and response times

Supervising the maintenance team and ensuring resources are effectively deployed

Monitoring engineer productivity, quality and compliance

Escalating high-risk issues and potential service failures appropriately

Producing performance reports and analysing trends to identify improvements

Monitoring first-time fix rates and recurring maintenance issues

Supporting contract performance meetings with accurate and auditable information

Ensuring CAFM records, job information and completion evidence are accurate and up to date

Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with health and safety, statutory and contractual requirements

Supporting internal and external audits

About You:

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, City & Guilds or equivalent

Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification

2391 Inspection & Testing, or equivalent, would be desirable

Previous experience in a maintenance supervisory or facilities management role

Experience managing electrical contractors and multi-trade maintenance services

Proven experience managing SLA and KPI performance

Experience managing both directly employed engineers and subcontractors

Strong knowledge of reactive maintenance processes and CAFM systems

Good understanding of electrical safety, safe isolation and permit-to-work requirements

A strong understanding of health and safety and statutory compliance

Excellent organisational and communication skills

The ability to prioritise effectively and perform well under pressure

Commercial awareness and confidence challenging unnecessary expenditure or poor contractor performance
