Job Title:
Assembly Technician

Location: Bury St Edmunds
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 4:00pm (4-day working week)

Are you a hands-on, reliable individual with strong mechanical skills? We are currently recruiting for a Assembly Technician to join a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term role with a company that values quality, safety, and teamwork.

The Role

As a Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting valves in line with engineering specifications and quality standards. You will play a key role in ensuring products meet required performance and safety criteria before dispatch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble valve components accurately using hand tools, fixtures, and engineering drawings

  • Carry out pressure, functional, and leak testing as required

  • Inspect components and completed valves to ensure they meet quality standards

  • Accurately record build and test data

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

  • Identify and report defects, issues, or opportunities for improvement

What We're Looking For
  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and assembly instructions

  • Good mechanical aptitude with strong hands-on assembly skills

  • Experience using hand tools and basic measuring equipment

  • Understanding of quality standards and safe working practices

  • High attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances

  • Basic problem-solving skills
