Let’s start with the bit engineers actually care about.

You finish work at 2:30pm most days.

No night shifts.

No weekend rota.

No call outs.

Just a straight Monday to Friday role in a busy food manufacturing site.

If you’re used to shifts, nights or weekend work, this is a completely different lifestyle.

Early finish.

Evenings free.

Weekends your own.

The Job

This is a hands on maintenance engineer role within a busy food manufacturing environment.

Your focus is simple.

Keep the plant running.

Fix problems quickly.

Stop them happening again.

You’ll be working closely with production and management to keep the factory operating smoothly.

Day to day you’ll be responsible for:

• Fault finding and repairing breakdowns

• Planned preventative maintenance

• Supporting production during processing runs

• Improving reliability of machinery across the site

This is not a “stand behind a laptop” engineering job.

It’s proper hands on engineering on a working production site.

Hours

06:00 – 14:30

Usually Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

07:30 – 16:00

Usually Wednesday and Friday.

So most days you’re finished mid afternoon.

Occasionally you may need to stay later if there are breakdowns or if production requires additional support.

The Package

£38-45k

Paid weekly.

Holiday: 33 days including bank holidays

Other benefits include:

• Weekly pay

• Stable long established manufacturing business

• Straight Monday to Friday working pattern

• Time off in lieu for weekend project work

The Person

You’ll probably be:

• A hands on maintenance engineer

• Mechanically or electrically skilled

• Comfortable fault finding on production machinery

• Someone who can work independently and solve problems quickly

Food manufacturing experience is useful but strong engineers from other production environments will also be considered.

The Company

This is a well established UK food manufacturing business supplying major retailers and food service customers.

The site operates with a small engineering team, so engineers are trusted to take ownership of the plant and keep operations running smoothly.

In other words:

It’s not corporate.

It’s not layers of management.

It’s a proper hands on engineering role where you can make a real impact
