Retail Sales Assistant

Bury St Edmunds Salary: £26,500
Hours:
Full-time, 5 days per week (weekend rota required) The Opportunity We are recruiting for a friendly and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join a successful and well-established retailer in Bury St Edmunds. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, has a passion for creating a positive shopping experience, and takes pride in delivering excellent service. You'll be helping customers find the right products for their needs, maintaining attractive showroom displays, and supporting the day-to-day running of the store.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service Welcome customers and provide a warm, professional service. Offer product advice and recommendations based on customer requirements. Respond to enquiries in person, by phone, and via email. Help customers make informed purchasing decisions. Sales & Store Support Develop a strong knowledge of the product range and current promotions. Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell where appropriate. Process sales accurately through the till system.
Support the team in achieving store sales targets. Showroom & Merchandising Ensure displays are clean, organised, and visually appealing. Assist with merchandising and seasonal product displays. Replenish stock and maintain high presentation standards. Check display products are functioning correctly and safely. Operations Receive and check deliveries. Prepare customer orders for collection or delivery. Assist with stock control and stock checks.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times. What We're Looking For Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role. Strong communication and customer service skills. Confident, friendly, and approachable manner. Good organisational skills and attention to detail. Basic IT skills. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn. What's On Offer? Salary of £26,500 .
