As a Technical Web Designer, you will own the full lifecycle of a project, bridging the gap between aesthetic UI/UX and technical execution. Whether supporting our UK-based clients or our global plugin user base in the USA, you will be responsible for building high-performance, data-driven websites that prioritise both user experience and technical stability. This role is designed for someone who enjoys the variety of shifting between visual design, data architecture, and server-side optimisation.
We are open to discussing this role as a long-term partnership with freelance specialists or small agencies. Whether you are an individual or a white-label partner, you must be able to integrate seamlessly into our workflow and meet our technical standards.
Requirements- Advanced Elementor Pro:
Mastery of the Theme Builder, Custom Loop Builder, and dynamic content integration to create bespoke layouts without relying on pre-made templates. - ACF Pro (Advanced Custom Fields):
Proven ability to architect complex data structures, including custom post types and relational fields, to build scalable and manageable websites. - Performance Engineering: A technical approach to site builds that prioritises Core Web Vitals, minimising asset bloat and ensuring high-speed delivery across all device types.
- Technical SEO:
Practical application of semantic HTML, logical heading hierarchies, and schema markup during the initial build phase to ensure search engine accessibility. - Word Press Lifecycle Management:
Experience managing the full deployment pipeline, including staging environments, database migrations, and plugin conflict resolution. - Software Stewardship:
Diligent oversight of plugin and license management, ensuring all software is updated, secure, and compliant across a varied client portfolio.
Desirable Experience
- Modern Workflow:
Proficiency in using Cursor or VS Code to streamline development tasks. - AI Integration:
Experience leveraging models such as Claude Sonnet or equivalent to accelerate problem-solving and coding efficiency. - Maintenance & Security:
Experience with plugin and license management to ensure site stability and software compliance across a diverse portfolio. - Plugin Development:
Ability to contribute to plugin development or custom functionality is a significant bonus. - WP-CLI:
Familiarity with command-line interface tools for site automation and management. - Server Infrastructure:
Hands-on experience with cPanel and WHM, including DNS management and site migrations. - Advanced Optimisation:
Knowledge of server-side caching mechanisms and performance-tuning tools.
