Take Precision on the Road. Deliver World-Class Equipment.
Our client is a globally recognized manufacturer of large, high-precision machine tools engineered in Germany and trusted by leading aluminum, steel, and paper producers worldwide. They are seeking a skilled Service Technician who thrives in the field, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes pride in commissioning world-class machinery at customer sites.
If you enjoy hands-on work, advanced technology, and seeing the direct impact of your expertise - this role offers variety, autonomy, and long-term stability.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Install, set up, and commission large, high-precision CNC machine tools at customer sites
- Lead machines from mechanical assembly through final fine-tuning, testing, and customer acceptance
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in the field
- Program, parameterize, and optimize control and drive systems from various manufacturers
- Set up and calibrate measuring and testing equipment to verify accuracy and performance
- Train customers on machine operation, maintenance, and best practices
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, alignments, and re-alignments
- Partner with engineering and production teams to implement improvements and enhance customer satisfaction
- Technical training as a Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Mechanic, Electronics Technician, or a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
(Significant hands-on experience may substitute for formal education) - Experience assembling, installing, or servicing industrial machinery
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and controls
- PLC experience (IEC 61131-3) is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and circuit diagrams
- Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus
- Comfortable working independently in the field or collaboratively with a team
- Clear communicator with customers and internal teams
- Willingness to travel extensively within North America (with occasional international travel)
- English proficiency required; German language skills a plus
- Competitive base salary based on experience and technical expertise
- Additional earnings for travel time, overtime, and per diem
- Full-time, stable employment with long-term career potential
- Exposure to advanced, large-scale CNC and machine tool technology
- 10 paid holidays plus paid vacation time
- Comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Life and disability insurance
- Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
This is not a bench-top service role. This is a chance to work on large, complex, precision-engineered machines, represent a respected global brand, and become a trusted technical partner to customers across North America.
If you enjoy travel, technology, and solving problems that matter - this role delivers all three.
