Overview
Instructor Level I-Mathematical Sciences – Full-Time Tenurable position at Montana Technological University. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is announcing a tenure-track opening for an Instructor in Statistics and Mathematics. The department offers undergraduate majors in Mathematics (with options in applied mathematics and statistics) and Data Science. Primary duties include teaching introductory statistics and mathematics courses, with a normal teaching load of 12 credits per semester, and administering summer bridge programs for incoming students.
Additional responsibilities may include curriculum design, coordination of service courses, and student success efforts.
- Teach 12 credits per semester of introductory statistics and/or mathematics courses.
- Teach summer bridge programs for incoming students.
- Assist with curriculum design, coordination of service courses, and student success initiatives as needed.
- At least a Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, mathematics education, or a related discipline.
- At least 9 credits of graduate-level mathematics and/or statistics coursework.
- Previous teaching experience in college-level mathematics and/or statistics.
- Ability to teach a wide range of undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses.
- Evidence of effective teaching.
- Previous experience with corequisite remediation, summer bridge programs, or other student success efforts.
- Cover letter addressing the above qualifications
