Montana Tech is establishing a pool of adjunct instructors to teach courses in various degree and certificate programs, including:
- Biology
- Business Information & Technology
- Chemistry & Geochemistry
- Bachelor of Applied Science courses
- Computer Science
- Business & Computer Technology (Accounting, Business, Networking, Health IT)
- Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum)
- Health (Radiologic, CNA, Nursing, Medical Assistant)
- CTS of Behavioral Health (requires 5 years recent experience in mental health clinical care, Masters preferred)
- Information Technology & Design
- Material Science
- Metallurgical & Materials Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Nursing
- Safety, Health & Industrial Hygiene
- Statistics
- Trades & Technical (Automotive, Construction, Drafting, Welding, Carpentry, Historic Preservation, Metals Fabrication, Lineman)
- General Education (English, Arts & Sciences, History, Math, Writing)
Positions are part-time, contingent on enrollment, with generally 1-3 classes per semester, depending on need.
Responsibilities- Prepare and teach courses as scheduled
- Design, develop, and assess curriculum
- Provide syllabi and assessment feedback
- Supervise and evaluate student progress
- Maintain student records
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success
- Contribute to institutional effectiveness and learning outcomes
- Adhere to disciplinary procedures and handle student issues fairly
- Adapt to various teaching formats (on-campus, online, hybrid)
- Utilize learning management systems and pedagogical best practices
- Work effectively with diverse backgrounds
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Master's degree in relevant field (alternatives may be accepted for some disciplines)
- Preferred: 2+ years post-secondary teaching, online/hybrid instruction experience, curriculum development experience, interest in STEM curriculum development
