About the Role
The Senior Electromechanical Engineer is a hands on technical leadership role responsible for designing, developing, and integrating advanced electromechanical systems for industrial and commercial products. This position leads complex engineering efforts from concept through commercialization, supporting new product development, custom solutions, and design for manufacturing. The role requires deep expertise in electromechanical system integration, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to operate in a fast paced, innovation driven engineering environment.
ResponsibilitiesLead electromechanical design projects from initial concept through prototyping, validation, and production release.
Develop complete product designs and individual electromechanical components for prototype, pre commercial, and commercial systems.
Apply principles of electrical theory, electronic testing, and mechanical design to integrated system development.
Generate project requirements, conduct technical investigations, and resolve product and process design challenges.
Prepare design specifications, analyses, and technical recommendations for leadership review and approval.
Perform CAD modeling, system layouts, tolerance analysis, and detailed engineering documentation.
Support hands on prototyping, testing, calibration, and iterative design improvements.
Apply design for manufacturing and design for assembly principles to ensure scalable and reliable production.
Collaborate cross functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and product development teams.
Provide technical leadership and contribute as a project lead or key team member from inception to completion.
QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Electromechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an ABET accredited program.
Ten or more years of experience in electromechanical design and product development.
Strong understanding of electromechanical system integration and interaction between electrical and mechanical subsystems.
Proven experience designing products for manufacture in industrial or commercial environments.
Advanced proficiency with Solid Works or similar CAD tools.
Demonstrated ability to prepare technical documentation including system layouts, component specifications, and calibration instructions.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
Ability to lead technically complex projects and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Desired QualificationsExperience developing complex machinery, processing equipment, or advanced industrial systems.
Background in pre commercial prototyping and commercialization of electromechanical products.
Experience supporting manufacturing transition, testing, and production scale up.
Strong interest in working within a fast paced, technically demanding product development environment.
