Overview

We are seeking a Hospice Chaplain to provide spiritual support to patients and families within the Enhabit Home Health & Hospice inpatient program. The Chaplain works collaboratively with clinicians, clergy, and community groups to enhance the care team's ability to address the spiritual needs of patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct spiritual support and counseling to patients and families in alignment with their beliefs.
  • Collaborate with staff, clergy, and community groups to enhance sensitivity to spiritual needs and report on services as indicated.
  • Offer consultation and education for patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provide bereavement follow‑up services as defined by Hospice.
  • Maintain proper records of visits to patients and families.
  • Perform occasional liturgical assignments such as the annual Service of Remembrance and monthly memorial services when indicated.
Qualifications
  • Ordination or ecclesiastical endorsement from a recognized denomination, allowing function in a pastoral capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience working with patients and families facing life‑threatening illness and death.
  • Training in clinical pastoral education meeting the requirements for the College of Chaplains (desired).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organization and ability to perform multiple critical tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding of issues related to the delivery of home care services.
  • Open, sensitive, flexible, and ecumenical approach.
  • Ability to function efficiently and positively within a high‑stress environment.
