Job DescriptionA Medical Assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.

Shift Details: Monday - Friday 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. with the possibility of 4 days per week. Will be discussed during interview

Responsibilities- Providing patient care:
Under the direction of the clinician, assisting the provider to gather information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition. - Effective communication:
Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in-person interactions. - Team collaboration:
Working with cross-functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.
- One of the following: completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Montana.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver high levels of customer/patient satisfaction.
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Current national MA certification from one of the following: RMA (AMT), NCMA, CCMA (AAMA CMA).
Physical and environmental requirements apply, including manual dexterity, lifting, standing for extended periods, and the ability to navigate a busy clinical setting. For roles requiring driving, the ability to drive a vehicle is required.
